Kids' Clothing Sales

Just a reminder about the Twin & Triplets garage sale this Saturday 10-4pm at Davenport Church of Christ.
Next Sat (Oct 1) there is a sale in Pehold, I believe at the new multiplex. This is where people rent their own tables to sell their clothing so you do have to go through multiple tables to find what you want.
Then on Sat Oct 15 is the Turnovers sale in Delburne, 8-12 I think. This is my favorite by far. I've started making it a girls morning out and we go with 2-4 ladies to save on gas.
I'm not committing to any of these sales this year but if there's no baby, I'll probably be there.

As usual there are no rocking deals on produce.

Nutrition tip of the week: take a look at your cart - does it match Canada's Food Guide? Is it mostly vegetables, fruits and whole grains with smaller amounts of milk products and meat? Or is it full of processed grain products that don't really count and a token bunch of bananas?

Grocery tip of the week: Turkeys: Grade A - really pretty bird, 'well-shaped, meaty with even fat covering' Utility - 'minor skin tears or one or more parts missing (ie. wing tip)'.  So, if your guests aren't going to see the bird and there is a big difference in price, buy the Utility grade or Butch as we affectionately call her (please google Dave Bakes a Turkey from Vinyl Cafe to understand this reference).

Happy Shopping. Let me know if you have any shopping or nutrition questions for JoAnn or myself. Otherwise, I'll keep inserting totally random facts.

Red Deer Twin & Triplets Garage Sale

The Red Deer Twin and Triplet Club is having their annual garage sale this Saturday!!! its at a church in Deerpark "Davenport Church of Christ 68 Donlevy Ave... 10-4 Also there will be vendor tables set up!! Come support your local Twin and Triplet Club :)

DIRECTIONS: go to the end of Ross street and turn Right, it's the church immediately after the corner store.
According to Emily, everyone prices their things separately so you can sometimes get some good deals (I agree). Last time we were there at closing and one of the moms was giving away some of her stuff! Just like a real garage sale. Anyone can attend; there's always lotsa single stuff. I've been going for years, long before I cared about the cute "twinsy" clothes!

As well, it's not just 'twinsy' clothes. These families are putting in all their kids' clothing and the last one I attended had clothing from newborn up to around 8years or older. There was toys, maternity, etc.

Rancho Vingola Order

I generally only post 'deals' but in this case, this isn't low priced food. We do not get any financial gains from promoting this company but, let me tell you the organic Mexican Mangoes are to die for.

Please see below for info on ordering bulk dried fruit, nuts, etc. Good quality products, generally can only order once a year. If you have questions contact the company directly or call Emily.

For anyone wanting to order from Rancho Vignola, they can contact Emily Berg and she will add them to her order. That way we don't each have to order the min $500. She is going to try to try to order on Friday, Sept 23 in the hopes that we are higher up the list and get our order faster this year!
So Emily's deadline is Thursday, Sept 22 (or Fri early morning if you're up late online!).
Rancho Vignola's Wholesale Ordering Season Begins!

Our 2011 wholesale price list and product information documents are now available on our website and we will be ready to receive your orders within a few short days. In the meantime, enjoy reading through the information we have provided, and please contact us if you have any questions or need clarification about the ordering procedure. Remember, the wholesale order deadline is Wednesday, September 28th and we have more time to answer your questions earlier in the month!

On a final note, if you're ready to take the plunge into home canning, Superstore had a kit with the big pot, tongs, large funnel, recipe book and a few other goodies for the low price of $39.99. It's on the bottom shelf of aisle 1 (I had to ask because who puts canning stuff next to the pop?)
And, if you don't know what you're doing, check out the Atco Blue Flame Kitchen for the most up-to-date canning information and recipes. I recommend everyone checks out this site.

I'll leave the rest for JoAnn.
