Time Out For Women and Time Out For Girls May 6th and 7th Calgary

I wanted to let you know about the Time Out For Women Event being held in Calgary May 6th and 7th. If you've never been, it's AWESOME!!! AND - there's a Time Out For Girls the same place as well.

It’s not like any other weekend or any other gathering or any other group of women. And it’s not like any other tour. The TIME OUT FOR WOMEN 2011 "CHOOSE TO BECOME" TOUR is coming to CALGARY for a full weekend of inspirational messages and music. And this year we're talking about YOUR POSSIBILITIES. So gather your friends, sisters, mom and neighbors and join us for a weekend of BECOMING a little closer to the woman you are meant to be. See you there!

CALGARY EVENT WEBSITE/REGISTRATION PAGE: http://deseretbook.com/timeout/event/146

At TOFW, we spend a lot of time thinking about "the next generation." There are so many concerning issues facing young women today. Whether you are a mother, an aunt, a leader, or a friend of a teenage girl, you're likely as worried about (and as hopeful for) them as we are.

And that's one of the reasons we are trying to focus on the next generation of women just a little more this year.

We are partnering again with RETREAT FOR GIRLS with two expanded sessions this summer at Utah State University in Logan, UT. RFG is a Monday-Friday experience for girls 12-15 filled with classes, activities, and team-building experiences. As one mother put it: "Kudos to you and the well-prepared counselors for bringing a Christ-centered experience to this program. Our summers will be planned around RFG for the next few years." (Shauna H., Florida)

And we are THRILLED to be reviving our GIRLS EVENT thanks to your encouragement (and demand!). Seven cities along the 2011 CHOOSE TO BECOME TOUR will have a TIME OUT FOR GIRLS event in conjunction with TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. What does this mean? YOU get your traditional TOFW experience in one part of the convention center. And the girls in your life get their own event, created just for them, in another part of the convention center. We will be in San Antonio, Calgary, Anchorage, Reno, Richmond, Phoenix and SLC (date TBD). We hope this meets the needs of everyone while allowing us to do something to help these incredible girls today.

So...will you help us? Get your daughters and nieces registered. Help spread the word to the next generation!

We can't wait to be with them!

Superstore Clearance

I was at superstore today and they have some good deals on houseware clearance items. Most for less than $10 or half price, if you're into a new year's organizing blitz.
Plus, if you have a sweet tooth, they have some chocolate goodness thingies in the freezer section of the bakery on for $0.94! Not heathy at all.
I'm off to make some super cute capes and aprons with all my new-to-me fabric. remember, I want to share (the fabric that is). I think I'll do some bean bags too. They are great toys.

FREE FABRIC!

What's better than cheap fabric? Free fabric!!!!

Thanks to a lovely sister in our ward cleaning out her stash, I am now the proud owner of a lot of fabric. I want to share it with all of you. There is a large variety of fabric including some light weight denim, heavier curtain weight fabric, cotton and poly cotton prints. Mostly florals and some liscensed prints (Dora, Blues Clues) etc. And, apparently, she has some Christmas fabric that she still needs to sort. There's even a cute hand-made shirt, would fit maybe a 4-5 year old?

So, if you're interested, please call or e-mail to set up a time to come to my house and peruse and take home to your heart's desire. Pass along to anyone who might be interested.
