20% off - Mark's

Next Thursday - May 6th is Mark's Work Wearhouse Ladies night - 5-11pm. They do this twice a year as well as guys night (usually May, June, Sept, and Oct) - EVERYTHING in the store, including sale items, is 20% off. This is a great time to buy those carhardt's or steel-toed boots that your husband wears for work because they are never on sale otherwise.
Plus, they have really cute ladies clothing for work.

JoAnn's Grocery Picks for the Week

Another week and I'm only 1 day sooner than last. Someone give me a kick in the pants!!

No Frills
If anyone went out last week, I hope you were more successful than I was. Apparently this store (or at least it's great sales) has ceased to be the best-kept secret in town. Most of the items on my list were "temporarily out of stock". Upon inquiring, the stocker said most of their trucks come on either Tuesday, Thurs or Sat. Her advice to me was to come right away - ie the first day of the sale, which is Friday. This being the case, I'm going to make a concerted effort to get the blog posted Thursday night, if I can manage. At least for No Frills. The new flyer is available online Thursday night, so I'll give it my best shot.
10kg sugar (that's the biggest bag) $8.88 (that beats $11.00+ regular)
Cottonelle toilet paper (this is the really soft stuff that can only be found in the ensuite at our house!!) 12 double rolls $5.49
Minute Maid or 5Alive juice boxes 10/$1.99
Asparagus $1.69/lb (yum yum)
English Cukes $.89
White potatoes 10lb/$1.99 (if you like white potatoes - I don't)
NN beef burgers $4.97/3lb box (1.36kg)

Superstore - Free watermelon with $150 purchase, which is a pathetic excuse for a reward!!
Boneless, skinless chicken breast - frozen $24.52/ 4kg box. This is a good price if you use this type of chicken breast.
Mangoes 10.b case $6.88 I'm not too familiar with mangoes. Is this a good price. It works out to be $.69/lb. Anyone?
PC soft drinks 2L $.79 each
Black Diamond cheese slices 1kg $4.97. In case you missed No Frills price of $3.97 for the last 2 weeks.
broccoli $.97/bunch
green or red leaf lettuce $.77
bagged salad - iceberg or coleslaw 3 lb bag for $2.48. That would be the same as $.82/1lb bag
white mushrooms $1.98/lb pkg
Foremost ice cream 4L pail $4.98. This is a good price for this brand of ice cream
NN smokies 1kg pkg $4.48. Regular price is between $5.98 and $6.98
NN pepperoni, summer sausage and salami 500g $1.99 ea

Co-op
cheddar cheese 900g blocks $7.99 limit of 2
Campbell's tomato or cream of mushroom suop $5.99/12 (that's $.50/can) limit of 2

peppers - red, yellow and orange $1.98/lb

Nestle bottled water $2.99/24

That's about all. Not too much. I anticipate more next week as it will be the 1st Tuesday. And we all know what that means.
Remember, if you have any rainchecks that are not expired, next Tuesday will be the time to use them.
Have a great week.

Free Epicure Spices

First, this isn't a plug for me.
I've been cleaning the cupboards trying to keep my spices to a manageable level and have the following for FREE:
Fajita seasoning (almost empty, but good for one meal)
Vegetable seasoning
Seafood and Fish Seasoning
Jamaican Jerk Seasoning

Crab dip mix
Louisiana Hot and Spicy dip mix

Tuscan rub OR Poultry seasoning (I can't decide which to let go, they are both good)

They are all in good condition, taste great, are less than 2 years old and I just need more room and need to cycle the spices. If you want any or all, let me know at lieselmeldrum@hotmail.com
grrreeeeggggggg (Monkey 1 wanted to contribute)
Happy Wednesday.
