Self Reliance - Let's Work Together

Anyone want to learn or hone some homemaking skills like:
  • baking bread
  • making pies
  • canning
  • sewing
  • budgetting
  • crafting / 'home beautification'
  • handiwork (crocheting, knitting, cross-stitching, etc)
  • Blogging
Feel free to add to the list.

Maybe we could share skills? In other words, one or two people go to another person's house who knows a certain skill and we learn from each other. A few years ago 4 of us, including my amazing mother-in-law got together in the fall and made apple pies. It was so much fun, we got to know each other better and we made over 20 pies in an afternoon to divvy up between us. Someone taught me how to machine quilt.

I feel confident in my ability to preserve food (jams, canned fruit), make cinnamon buns and sew some basic things. If you want to learn more, please contact me.

I would like to learn how to trade stock on the internet (not now but someday) and how to get music onto my iPod.

If you have skills and want to share please comment.

If you want to learn skills please comment.

Then we can match people up.

Sounds like a good time to me. Total Win-Win situation.

  1. And I would love to learn how to landscape, ie. where to plant things like shrubs and flowers. I'm clueless.

  2. I'm not in your Ward, but would love to learn to can. I even have a canner....never been used. I would also love to learn more about herbs and herb gardens and how to implement them into daily meals. I could teach the basics on starting a blog

  3. Thea, we have a sister in our ward who is knowledgeable on herbs. If we get her to teach, we will let you know so you can come.
